DM&E Maintenance Machines Move to Work on BNSF & IC&E Diamond at Ottumwa, Iowa

A large maintenance of way force works on the railroad diamond crossing at Ottumwa, Iowa on November 21, 2012. The crossing is between the BNSF and the Canadian Pacific-owned Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern, although it is called the ICE crossing during the video. After Amtrak passed through, a DM&E ballast regulator and tamper moved off the Des Moines River bridge to work on the diamond, leaving behind a hi-rail truck with a ballast hopper. Starting at 4:47, a truck mounted crane can be seen loading old ties into the truck. The conversation at 5:27 is between the BNSF dispatcher, a foreman, and BNSF 4999 on getting 4999 permission to pass reg flags, but not to pass a diamond. This is just a preview of my next video. MoW equipment: DME 8211-04 Kershaw ballast regulator DME 8206-13 HTT tamper
